To Whom It May Concern:

Let’s see how much my Lupron injections would cost if I was uninsured

I’m a breast cancer survivor and I have to take this monthly injection for 10 years to lower my risk of cancer recurrence.

My bills show that one injection without insurance costs $5,650.76.

I’ve completed 54 injections since 2020, so 54 injections x $5650.76 = $305,141.04.

Thanks to my employer-based insurance, I pay $0 out of pocket for my Lupron injections.

I wanted to do this experiment to see how expensive Lupron really is for those who are uninsured and to shed light on how expensive cancer treatment can be at face value.

With or without health insurance, the value of cancer care is REALLY high.

Breast regards,

Michelle
