To Whom It May Concern:
Here are some things I did to take care of my hair after it started growing back after chemotherapy.
None of these tips are groundbreaking, but they collectively made a difference. My approach has always been INNER HEALTH and HAIR HEALTH, not hair regrowth.
1. Massage Scalp
I stimulate my hair follicles naturally using an electronic handheld scalp massager. Consistency is key! I try to do this every night for 10 minutes before going to sleep. It’s so relaxing.
2. Use Clean Products
I steer away from using medicated products and prefer using clean, natural products, especially ones that target the scalp.
3. Use Silk Pillowcase
Silk pillowcases reduce breakage, tangles, and frizz.
4. Trim Hair Every 3 Months
Despite how short my hair was during the initial regrowth phase, I trimmed my hair every 3 months to even out the mullet and remove split ends.
5. Pick The Right Hairbrush
I used a boar bristle brush when my hair first started growing out. Now, I use a detangling brush on dry hair and wide-tooth comb on wet hair.
6. Don’t Wash Hair Everyday
I wash my hair every 3-4 days. It took a while for my hair to get used to this cadence without getting too oily. I use serums, oils, and masks on the day I wash my hair.
7. Other
– Blow dry using cold air
– Use heated styling tools minimally
– Use scrunchies over hair ties when applicable
– Incorporate nutrients into diet
– Discuss any supplements with oncologist

I linked my favorite products in my amazon storefront, located in my link in bio, just to list everything out. I recommend purchasing DIRECTLY from the stores or company websites where expiration dates are regulated.
